I chopped 10 inches of hair in Florence!

I love my hair so much that I decided to chop all of it off in Florence, Italy~

They say hair holds memories. I am ready to let go and start new!

Growing up, one of the ways that was advised to be by my mother was my hair. Nothing short. No short hair whatsoever. Hair masks weekly. Pony tail for school. No dying it!

I am grateful for healthy and long hair but I do not think I ever truly acknowledged or paid attention to it!

During my trip, I had an ephiany that I was not being intentional with my hair care at all. I think I am fortunate enough to be born with the typical long, straight and black hair so I never paid much attention to maintaining or caring for it. It was not until I decided to make a drastic change and dye my entire head red due a “feeling”. That feeling lead me to continue to dye my hair purple with box dye. R. I. P.

Damaging it was not a brainer. On my trip, I noticed how I would begin styling it and what was most heart breaking was the fact that my Dyson could not come along with me on the trip. For some reason, I adore my long hair and wanted something new! They say hair holds memories so why not begin again :) I do miss my long hair very much but I know it will grow back.

I never ever had short hair before!! This is something very new for me and I feel so excited. I am excited to learn what kind of hairstyles to do with my new short hair. Perhaps this will teach me to appreciate my hair a bit more than before! It is as if I am going on a long journey with myself and my hair in terms of growing, styling and maintaining it on my own terms rather than anyone else's.
